Toronto Islington Terrace | 145.08m | 45s | Tridel | Kirkor Architects

Those are the Montgomery Mills towers - they've actually sunk quite a bit of money into them in the past few years, ie all new balconies, and they redid the landscaping and entrances to be more modern.

Anyone know if the new pedestrian stairs to Islington will be open/accessible anytime soon? Or will it be once the third building (on the east) is done?

The notice says 4-6 weeks but who knows really.

The trio of Montgomery mills is no more, the 2 on the northside of Mabelle are owned and managed by will-star and the south one is northstar. Northstar has a application to build 57 story building on the backside where the tennis courts are and i'm sure Wilstar will do something the large field that is the garage roof as well.

Wilstar did put some money into the buildings but it's kinda a flop, the balconies restoration started before Tridel even had a garage poured and the balconies still aren't done yet. The heating and cooling system in the buildings were replaced and the energy saving settings cause tenants to use their in unit HVAC on all the time. Winters are cold and summers are too warm and muggy, better have a portable AC and space heaters in Wilstar's place.

Looks like occupancy at Bloorvista has now started on certain floors. Islington Terrace seems to be fully occupied.

More up on site.

People moving in to both towers while I was there and prospective buyers been shown the 2nd tower.

An accident waiting to happen if that unprotected edge remains as is at the bottom of the ramp that connect to the street sidewalk, especially at night.

The towers turned out really well, I dont know what this is supposed to be. An electrical bunker? Maybe they were going for the mechanical room look? Above ground water pumping station look? Who knows with Kirkor.

I suppose we'll see better plantings here next year, but this already a huge improvement to this rather grubby piece of sidewalk along Islington.

Those buildings are really not my thing. But they've seem to have done an okay job with it. And look fairly striking from an distance. So thumbs marginally up for these, for what's that's worth.

They've certainly improved the Etobicoke skyline, if nothing else - it was very tired looking with all those ugly 70's and 80's towers. They're relatively inoffensive. And those stairs are a dramatic upgrade - the original ones had a creepy, rapey vibe to them.
