Some of those shots of the shed at Union really emphasize its beauty. I'm so glad were saving it in all its decrepit glory...

I believe they are gradually rebuilding the shed at union station, piece by piece, as part of the rennovation plan, are they not? It certainly holds historical value, being the first or largest of its kind on the continent.

hey - I like the sounds of that - glass! in the fashion of some of the great stations in Europe. Of course if they built it they'd be too cheap to pay for it to be washed on a regular basis.

OTOH if you moved the existing shed to Filmport and spiffed it up a little, it might not seem so ugly...

There's a tender call now on GO site (see http://www.gotransit.com/pcs_public/en/Tenders/Currenttenders/TenderAds/SQ-2008-EN-004.htm ) for a glass atrium - replacing part of the present train shed - which is very historic.
