Toronto Kipling Station Transit Hub | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | SAI

I have a feeling they're going to end up being permanent knowing what goes on around in this city. Some people will come out and whine and complain when the lights are deactivated, then the councilor (DiCiano in this case) will pander to his constituents and agree to make them permanent since the election is right around the corner.

The area around Kipling Station is already a zoo, and these traffic lights will only make things worse.

The traffic lights actually improve things a lot. Pedestrians would constantly stream across the previous intersection which only had stop signs, backing up traffic onto Dundas.

Now the flow is much more predictable as well as safer for pedestrians.

I parked at Kipling today, the PPUDO was an absolute mess. People were creating a third lane with their cars on the two lane loop.
That may be because nobody uses the PPUDO. They just stop at the end of the laneway instead of actually going to the PPUDO.

Just turn left before Aukland onto Viking Lane, or do a u-turn on Dundas and take the EB-SB ramp.

2 weeks from now neither of those will be options.

The "Viking ramp" from Viking to St Albans will be closed (until Dec), and the EB-SB ramp will be closed (forever).

However, the new "Road A" - which is an extension of St Albans, "Road B", and Dundas will be open with a light at new Dundas and Kipling, to be able to loop through the Westwood lands.

Lot more up on site. Had time today to shoot the west end and noticed the gate for the old parking lot still in place.

Don't recall seeing an entrance off Subway Cr on the last site plan for the rebuilt TTC parking lot or the Hub.

That new parking lot east of Kipling has to be in place before TTC deals with the north lot and no idea at this time if it will be done in phases or one shot. I wouldn't be surprise the whole thing will be close 100% in 2019.

The contractor for the new terminal has built offices next to the new road for the new Acorn intersection and using the plan road as a parking lot at this time. I guess by next year, they could relocate those offices to the new parking lot area to allow the new road & intersection to be built.

The current road and parking area for the Kiss & Ride will be close and be relocated to the north side. Subway Cr will be remove to allow for the new Kiss & Ride area, as well the new layout of the lot.

Not much work has taken place for the new terminal yet, other than some new sewer and water lines.

It was nice to look out those windows to do some train watching and no idea how much of the existing windows view will be retain. No idea offices space was going there at all. Mississauga sure miss the boat for a free RT in the 80's from this station.

I have either miss it or it hasn't surface yet, is the current GO platform going to be rebuilt to current standards?? A good time to do it.

I'm disappointed that the historic house on Dundas has been demolished.
I'm thrilled it was demolished, it was a dilapidated eye sore that served no purpose. If it was historically significant, maybe moving it should have been considered, but there's no reason why it should have been kicking around on Dundas for that long.

^What was the historic significance of that house? I’m involved in heritage stuff out this way, and it wasn’t on the radar screen.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm not sure that there was anything historically significant about it.

With those offices ( unused south Kipling Station platform) being added on the RT/LRT platform does this construction effectively eliminate any chance of future use construction such as a Gondola service to Sherway Gardens or future LRT technology not invented yet?
