In September, we introduced the Gupta Group's Rosedale on Bloor, a 52-storey condo/hotel project that's set to rise just west of Sherbourne Station. A month later, we learned that the luxury Canopy by Hilton would be the tower's hotel tenant, representing the brand's first foray into the Canadian market. Then, in November, we spoke with Steve Gupta about the project, highlighting the quickly growing neighbourhood as a nascent hotbed of new development. Now, as we continue to learn more about the project, we take a look at the first interior renderings of the project.

Designed by Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects, the Rosedale on Bloor will join a neighbourhood in the midst of a high-rise transformation, with nearby projects The Selby and James Cooper Mansion bringing a new high-rise ambiance to the area. While the new rental and condominium projects are adding new density to the community, Rosedale on Bloor is notable for the inclusion of a hotel at the tower's base, which will bring additional vibrancy to the street. In addition, the condo/hotel configuration allows residents to enjoy the luxury of an indoor pool (shared by the hotel) without incurring the prohibitively high maintenance fees that often accompany this type of amenity.

While hotel guests and residents will share a pool, the condo's other amenities will be separate from the hotel, providing exclusive places residents and their guests. In addition, the condominium will have its own lobby (seen below), giving residents a quieter entrance while maintaining the street-level vibrancy brought to the neighbourhood by the Hilton Canopy patrons.

Seen above, the spacious condominium lobby is characterized by an understated interplay of earth tones and bright accents. Facing out onto Bloor Street, the lobby gives residents direct access to one of Toronto's main arteries, while the hotel lobby at the south end of the tower will allow for the chauffeured livery of guests without disrupting traffic on Bloor.

Featuring 476 residential units—ranging in size from 307 ft² to 871 ft²the project's interiors will be appointed by Toronto-based Studio Munge, with the first available rendering of a suite interior (above) showing a distinctly modern aesthetic.

The Rosedale on Bloor will also feature landscaping by NAK Design Strategies, while the project's condominium amenities will include a party/dining room—outfitted with a chef's kitchen, in addition to a number of conference rooms and a lounge aimed at residents with home based business.

UrbanToronto will keep you updated as the project continues to progress, with more details about the development expected over the coming months.
