What the founder of the Group, Mr. Steve Gupta, lacked in financial resources when he started over four decades ago he made up in boundless ambition, enthusiasm and energy.
Studying and working at the same time to finance his fledgling dream, Mr. Gupta’s first foray into business was the purchase of a truck stop in Port Hope, Ontario, to which he added a hotel and various restaurants.
Like most visionaries, he was able to foresee the explosion of highway traffic and was confident that his investment would yield significant returns over time.
His prescience was proved right, and there was no looking back. Mr. Gupta continues to add hotels to his Easton's Group portfolio across the Greater Toronto Area. Now, the Gupta family have created The Gupta Group to move into condominium development in the GTA.
