Bazis, Metropia, and Plaza's Emerald Park Condos is closing in on completion, as residents and businesses replace construction workers in the 42 and 33-storey Rosario Varacalli-designed condo towers at Yonge and Bogert in North York's city centre.
We last covered the development back at the start of this year when the project hit a major milestone, as the crane for the taller east tower was disassembled, following the late-2014 disassembly of the first crane. Emerald Park reached another milestone back in March of this year, when occupancy began for the first residential and commercial units.
Many of the building's 564 residential units are now either occupied, or in the process of move-ins, and while finishing touches have already brought the building's exterior to completion, there is still work to do on the retail spaces in the complex's podium levels, including Ontario's third Adonis grocery store with "Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Lebanese influences", an LCBO location, and many boutique retailers.
In addition to the ample retail offerings and direct connection to the TTC's Sheppard-Yonge Station on Lines 1 and 4, the building also includes a number of amenities found on the fourth floor of the complex's podium. Here residents of the development can enjoy the exercise facility, social lounges, steam rooms and change rooms, an indoor pool and whirlpool, two games rooms with bars, two party rooms, an outdoor terrace, and a rooftop garden and lounge.
