As construction work continues at King Plus Development's King + Condos, new finishing details are bringing the building's exterior closer and closer to completion. Since topping off at the southeast corner of King and Sherbourne early this year, the 17-storey, TACT Architecture-designed condo development is now almost fully sealed off, with just the mechanical penthouse and the blank east facade left to clad.

The restored three-storey facade of the historic National Hotel recently had its replica windows installed. To its side, a modern section will be clad in a brick finish that will bridge the heritage facade to the west with Abbey Lane Lofts, the modern red brick-clad loft building to the east. We can also look forward to the removal of the perimeter hoarding which will give us our first look at the restored masonry of the National Hotel facade's ground floor.

In the image above, ornamental cornices are visible above the first and third storeys. These cornices , detailed in the close-up images below, are in the process of being cleaned and painted, with the lower cornice already painted and the upper cornice currently awaiting its first coat of paint.

Once construction of the development is complete, residents of the building's 132 one and two-bedroom loft-style suites and penthouse residences will have access to amenities including a lounge with bar and catering space, as well as a fitness centre and a guest suite.
