Most of the construction workers responsible for building Plaza's Ivory on Adelaide have been supplanted by residents as the final elements of work are wrapping up for the 22-storey condominium tower. Located on Adelaide just east of Sherbourne, the bold Hariri Pontarini Architects designed development is substantially complete, and with work well under way on the building's entry forecourt, it won't be too much longer before the last work crews finish up and the building can officially be deemed complete.

Some of the forecourt's paving is already laid, including a large section currently fenced off from the active work zone, allowing residents to pass in and out of the building's main entrance.

The west side of the forecourt, running alongside the base of the building's Adelaide Street arm, will feature a canopy to shelter residents from the elements as they walk the short distance from the front doors to the sidewalk. The metal supporting structure for this shelter has recently been installed in advance of the canopy installation.

The layout for the courtyard appears to have changed from the one included in pre-construction renderings of the development, though the overall size of this area, which will be added to Toronto's list of Privately Owned Public Spaces, or POPS, is unchanged from original plans. Renderings depicting the original courtyard plan can be viewed for comparison by visiting our dataBase file for Ivory on Adelaide, linked at the bottom of the article.

Residents of Ivory's 358 condominium units have access to amenity spaces including a spacious double-height party room, as well as an outdoor amenity space on the 12th floor offering impressive views across Toronto. We took a tour of these amenities back in November, and you can check them out for yourselves by reading this article.
