Below-grade construction is progressing at the site of Concert Properties88 Scott, with concrete and steel quickly working its way up to street level. The 58-storey Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects-designed condominium tower has made quite a bit of progress since our last construction update, when the second tower crane was erected at the base of the excavated pit. In the time since, work has commenced on the building's foundations and five levels of below grade parking.

Over the next few months, both cranes will work away at the below grade levels before work moves on to the complex podium levels above. The podium of this project will be notable for its reuse of the limestone cladding from the previously existing building at 40 Scott Street, which was taken down to make way for the new high-rise. Once the below-grade levels and five-storey podium reach structural completion, only one crane will be necessary to construct the comparatively narrow floors of the tower portion.

Once construction of the development is complete, residents of 88 Scott's 525 condominium units will enjoy a wide selection of amenities, found in the "Core Club" and "SkyLounge" areas featured in previous articles about the project.
