Construction continues at the site of Times Group's Key West, a new 44-storey Burka Architects-designed condominium tower rising from Park Lawn Road, on the east bank of Mimico Creek in the growing Humber Bay Shores area of Etobicoke. Having recently passed the 30-storey mark, Key West is now just shy three quarters of the way to its final height, with the building's cladding following several storeys behind.

The tower will stand out from its largely glass-clad neighbours with a series of precast concrete fins which run vertically up the east and west facades of the tower, emphasizing the building's height while adding some texture to contrast with the dark-tinted glazing being applied to the rest of the building. Below, Key West rises south of Amexon's South Beach, and north of Onni's Westlake, all of which are on the east bank of the Mimico Creek just above where it enters Lake Ontario.

The new development will add plenty of life to an area in the process of a massive transformation, and will include 421 condominium units ranging in size from 520 square feet to 1,225 square feet. The development will also feature six retail/commercial units in a free-standing two-storey building fronting on Park Lawn Road. Adjacent developments are also adding substantial retail and restaurant space to the quickly-growing neighbourhood.

Residents of Key West will enjoy a selection of ground floor amenities overlooking the Mimico Creek Valley, including a fitness centre, lounge, dining room, presentation kitchen, a billiards room and a multi-purpose room. Upstairs on the second floor, there will be even more amenities, including a tech lounge, presentation kitchen, media lounge, a yoga studio and a guest suite.
