UrbanToronto has the first renderings of the proposed 54-storey tower at 156 Front Street West. An introductory story earlier this week included elevation drawings of the project. Although small in size, they give the viewer a better idea of how the gently curving and sculpted development will look amongst the buildings of Downtown Toronto.

The building appears to have two feature sheltered terrace sections, at the halfway point, and most of the way up the tower, which will face both east and west.

Developer Cadillac Fairview went to Chicago-based Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architects for the design. The architectural firm are the designers behind the kilometre-high Kingdom Tower now under construction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a mixed-use tower which will be by far the tallest building in the world when completed. B+H Architects of Toronto are the architects of record on this project.

It is not yet known if Cadillac Fairview has a major tenant lined up for the structure, which at 265 metres would be the third tallest office building in Toronto. Only Scotia Plaza at 274.9 metres and First Canadian Place at 298.1 metres are taller.

The first public consultation on the project is expected in the coming few months. UrbanToronto will report back when larger images are available.
