Toronto Toronto Coach Terminal Redevelopment | ?m | 41s | Kilmer | Studio Gang

I wonder what an EMS Hub involves. Just somewhere to park ambulances and for paramedic staff to break between calls? It's not like there will be an ER here, right?
When they have worked on including EMS hub into some of the Housing Now podiums, it is essentially defined as 250 m2 drive-thru section of the street-level for swapping staff shifts and restocking / cleaning the EMS vehicles, same format to what they have included in 260 Adelaide St W project - https://urbantoronto.ca/news/2022/01/60-storeys-and-park-proposed-entertainment-district-sites.47034

I’ve got a piece coming. But to clarify: the plan is not to close Elizabeth Street to vehicle traffic but to make it pedestrian-first and heavily planted.

Your piece is now linked:

Alex's piece provides a solid summary of the proposal and he is broadly laudatory of entire thing and the process that delivered it.

I generally agree, with the proviso, that oddly, I'm a bit more cynical than Alex on this one in terms of the City's willingness and ability to execute. But I'd more more than pleased to be proved wrong.

We do learn a few new details in Alex's piece in respect of the cladding of both buildings:

The Studio Gang designed building over the heritage terminal is clad in limestone.

While the AA building, will, if Peter Clewes has his way, be clad in Titanium.

In respect of the above, one of two paragraphs I will bring forward in full:

The intent, is to get construction going by the end of 2025. Certainly plausible, but will require the City and their partners to work to a tighter timeline than certainly the City is used to.....

Finally, on the Elizabeth Plaza space, we get a smidge more detail:

The render posted with the article, in respect of the space above, I have chosen to enlarge for purposes of illustration:

Fair enough!

Edit/Clarification: I just wanted to say that I was just venting my frustrations when posting my respective protest here. I am aware there are workarounds...

...however, due to having those options potentially limited by bringing this up, I will be keeping my vents to myself on the matter from now on. My apologies for this oversight! /bows
