Sherbourne Common, Toronto's newest park, opened last year to much acclaim. The park not only provides a beautiful place to play or relax but it also does a double duty as a stormwater treatment plant. Today's Photo Of The Day, taken by UrbanToronto Forum member Jasonzed, shows the skating rink that provides the park's focus in the winter.

Designed by Vancouver based Phillips Farevaag Smallenberg, the park is the creation of Waterfront Toronto. Just another important step in the redevelopment of the eastern part of downtown Toronto and another reason to head towards the lake.
