The University of Toronto has announced a private sector partner, Knightstone Capital Management, to help it create a new student residence on the south side of College Street east of Spadina. Knightstone will fund the $120 Million building, planned to house up to 1400 students. While zoning is not currently in place, the University will be seeking approval to build between 30 and 40 storeys high. A street level rendering of a modern glass and steel tower showing multi-planar facades was provided by Diamond Schmitt Architects to the Globe and Mail.
