I'm finding it rather incredible that Canada is scored similarly to Japan. Our murder rate is 6x higher.

Our non-criminal murder rate is likely about the same. If you live a decent, law abiding life in Canada away from drugs, gangs and theft you’ll likely never be a victim of homicide. OTOH, family members murdering each other is everywhere unfortunately.
