They were putting the finishing touches to the area for this coming weekend erection

In those cases(which there are many) they will either have to rebuild the bridge in question to the new height standard or lower the tracks. Rebuilding the bridge is normally the cheaper alternative. This is one of the reasons why electrification is so expensive.

I dont think you can raise the spadina bridge... the grade is already pretty steep. They might have to lower the rails or tunnel spadina.

Will the decking be covered with a think layer of concrete when the bridge is complete? Can't see them leaving it like this. Too hard to walk on.

Also, when will the bridge be open to the public?

Nope. On top of the steel decking goes a layer of loose marbles.

Shit, they brought in crawlers for this move. Looks like the ones that were doing the Toronto South Detention Centre erection some weeks ago.

Lets hope the rain holds off Friday night, otherwise it will be Sat night.

Better bring rain coats and protection for the cameras.

Some of the artwork is being added to the ramp and entrance.

Crawler is helping out with prep work for this weekend's much anticipated completion of the second half of the bridge.

Lots of work went into this ramp. However, judging from the next two pictures, it will be hard for a wheelchair to access the ramp. It has one (maybe two steps) to negotiate.

That ramp is going to be brutal in the winter. I have bad knees and I know I wouldn't be comfortable using that thing when it's covered in ice.
