Southcore Financial Ctr: PricewaterhouseCoopers Tower (18 York St, bcIMC, 26s, KPMB)

Second crane coming here sometime this week. The footings and first segments of the tower element are complete. It will be on the east side of the site (York St. side).

I still can't believe how quickly this project seems to be moving along. Shame it's not larger, but I suppose any office development in these times is pretty impressive

I think I see 'fins' at the top on this 18 York rendering ..... cool !! just like Telus Tower

I can't recall every having seen this much excavation taking place after insertion of the cranes. Anybody know the reason? Or is this more common than I think?

Too bad office floorplates require such fat-ass buildings these days. I guess the days of tall, skinny towers like Commerce Court North (to say nothing of Lower Manhattan skyscrapers like 70 Pine) are long gone.

Luckily, we had a condo boom to give us anorexic towers like Trump, 1KW and Spire.
