Looks likes MT (miWay) is going to do what I suggested early this year about future open houses for service change for the 5 year plan. This what I know at this time for the fall line up for the 2017 service changes being plan.

Open Houses at Meadowvale Community Centre on Saturday October 1, 2016 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and at Erin Meadows Community Centre on Tuesday October 4, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

September 5, 2016 changes:

With the fall academic term starting up again the full schedules are restored on routes 3. 35, 66, 101A, 107, and 110.

Other service changes:

16 - route will be assigned 30' Eldorado buses on weekdays

26 - weekday late evening and night frequency, which is currently based on 22 minute frequency using 5 buses, will be reduced to 26-28 minute frequency with one bus removed from the route (see route 76 below)

30 - route will be assigned 30' Eldorado buses on weekdays

36 - Summer schedule of 20 minutes frequency all day becomes permanent year round (previously 14 minutes peak, 20 minutes midday)

48 - Route will be assigned 30' Eldorado buses on weekdays. One bus is being added to the route during this time so there will be 3 buses on the route. The schedule will be revised to improve service reliability during this period as well (4-5 minutes additional runtime)

A tender is to close on Sept 7 for 27 buses with 13 been approve this year and 14 to be approved in 2017 subject to funding.

Not the normal tender process, but will not see any new buses until the fall of 2017, though we need them now.

53 40's in the 300's series are schedule for replacement in 2018 as it stands, but will in a split order for different years.

The last I knew that buses for 2017 were being order for the expansion of the Transitway when it goes to 7 days a week with better headway. Still needs expansion buses with the opening of the LRT in mind as the buses on Hurontario will be move to other routes once it open.

These headways are a joke compared to the TTC. Thank goodness I don't live or work in Mississauga.

Unless you own a car, get the hell out Mississauga as we are not prepare to offer better transit service you may need.

This City was built for cars and cars not only rule the road, but council as well.

Transit is a drag on the city bottom line and we need that money for other things.

This 5 year plan is a joke and the the latest changes will only make it worst.

Are you seriously suggesting that streets like Mississauga Rd., Bristol Rd. and Tenth Line would get better than 21, 22, 23 minute midday frequency if they were served by the TTC? There are no TTC routes with similar frequencies?

edit: I'm sorry, my post was mean, my bad.

20 Rathburn - 26
29 Park Royal - 25
36 Colonial Loop - 20

124 Sunnybrook - 20
133 Neilson - 10

Of course, Toronto is central city, it will have more service than a suburb, and suburban routes in Toronto have the advantage of subway connections, especially without extra fare, but still I don't see a vast difference here. You see two completely different standards here?

Proposed fare changes for Jan. 30, 2017
Adult and senior tickets up by 10 cents
Post-secondary Presto e-purse fares up by 15 cents

Nothing new and will be standard yearly, considering this will be the 17 year in a role of 10 cent fare increase.

Don't expect to see much service increase in 2017 and most will go into the Transitway this fall. Starting this Sat and next week will see the service changes plan for 2017 at open houses, as noted above in 885 posting.

Attended the MiWay Five 2017 PIC this morning. As I have posted before there have been deviations from the original maps and timelines that were posted on the MIWay site. While I still have concerns about the overall MiWay five plan I came away impressed with some of the changes proposed for 2017, and some of the improvements have been bumped up from their original timelines. They are as follows:

January 2, 2017

Route 109 - NEW Sunday service. Routing revised to serve Erin Mills and Winston Churchill BRT Station

Feburary 27, 2017

Route 107 and 109 - Routing revised to serve Spectrum and Orbitor Station

Route 45 - Branch 45A eliminated with service provided on route 45 only. Plymouth Loop eliminated and service to Winston Churchill Station begins

Route 71 - Route extended to cover the Playmouth loop served by route 45 and additional trips added

May 1, 2017

Route 11 - Improved Saturday and Sunday Frequency

Route 35 - NEW Sunday service

Route 103 - NEW Sunday service

July 3, 2017

Route 38 - Redesigned to travel only along Creditview Road from Dundas to Financial, no longer serving Bancroft or Argentia.

Route 39 - Extended to Skymark Hub via Matheson. Service along Lisgar will remain until route 50 is implemented in 2019.

Route 54 - NEW local route 7 days a week between Meadowvale Town Centre and Kennedy/Matheson serving Winston Churchill, Argentia, Bancroft, Matheson and looping via Kennedy, Traders, and Watline.

Route 108 - Revised routing to provide coverage along Cantay between Hurontario and Mavis. Route extended to Meadowvale Town Centre via Derry, serving Financial but no longer serving Argentia. Improved frequency.

With these changes, routes 25, 34, 70, and 87 are being eliminated.

September 4, 2017

Renforth Gateway opens. All routes serving Skymark Hub will service Renforth Gateway.

Route 107 - NEW Sunday service

October 23, 2017

Route 19 - Modified to have 2 branches: 19 and 19A. 19 will run between Port Credit and Britannia, looping using Sandstone, Avebury, and Britannia. Route 19A will run between Trillium and 407 GO Terminal. No change to overall service levels.

It looks like I will not be able to use 38 anymore starting July 3, 2017. 54 doesn't look too useful. Probably it should serve Hershey Centre and remove 53 from Hershey Centre.

And with 54 they will replace a north-south service with east-west. The lack of north-south routes in this area is kind of annoying. Both 61 and 66 do not even reach Burnhamthorpe. Only the 38 reaches Burnhamthorpe. They change 26 Burnhamthorpe into a grid route, but give it no routes to connect to. Very odd.

But yeah I am glad the 39 will finally be extended along Matheson. This part of Matheson was only built like 15 or 20 years ago? Good job for MiWay planners being such quick thinkers.
