Best Burger

OK............just made my way through this thread / I get to the city occasionally.........certainly have some go-to's................It's 8:15 AM and I am now seriously craving. My partner ( a woman, she hates "girlfriend" and I have a wife ~~~~ somewhere,.., with someone ) has burger in the fridge with a dinner plan that may be co-opted..
Anyone remember the burger palace at Yonge & Bloor in the 70's ~~ you could order a burger with bacon & a runny fried egg topping......................OMG!!Heavenly!!! (it may have been the drugs)
 
For all you burger aficionados, my roommate just got home after having some sort of an orgasmic, religious experience at "Burger Priest" and won't shut up about it. He's one of those types who is in constant motion in a quest to find the perfect hamburger in our fair city. It's a trek to get out to Coxwell and Queen but according to him (and NOW), it's well worth the trip. Expect lineups he says.

The Best Burger in Toronto

The Best burger is at the Burgers Priest on Queen St. EAst near the beach. They are redeeming the burger, one burger at a time. The meat is ground fresh daily. There are no patties they plop a fresh blob of meet on the grill in front of you. There are no additives or bread crumbs.

They also have gluten free buns for those of us with allergies. They have great fries and there deep fryer only fries french fries so again no allergy issues if you are celiac or allergic to wheat. This is the only burger joint in T.O. I know of that does this, so it is the only one I can actually eat at any more.

I have met people there from other parts of Canada who have made a special trip to the beach when in town just to get to this place. They have told me it is the best burger they have tasted. Incredibly yummy. Only a few stools to sit on, that is the only downfall of the place.

I think the peanut butter, bacon, and fried banana burger at Dangerous Dan's is totally awesome.

I was disappointed with Bymark - you're not missing much. It was a good burger, but the burgers at Dangerous Dan's are better, even if they don't have truffles. ;) Oh and the onion rings at A&W or even my workplace cafeteria were better than Bymark's. The Bymark onion rings were soggy.

But of course, the best burgers are the ones we make on our own BBQ.

I tried a Hero burger once. It was disgusting.

I have since tried the burger at the Queen and Beaver pub downtown. They by far have the best burger I've tried in town.

However, I have not yet tried The Burger's Priest. The main reason is that there is almost no seating there, and we usually prefer going somewhere with some seating, even if it's for a burger.
 
I've had the Burger's Priest twice now - the second time to confirm my original impression that it really wasn't all that special. I didn't dislike it by any means, but to me it just tasted like a fairly regular burger made with good-quality ingredients. I know it gets generally rave reviews on Chowhound and in various other places, but I just can't see it. Maybe I need to get one of their burgers off their 'secret menu'?

For me the best burger I've tried is still the Grindhouse black and blue...great beefy flavour matching perfectly with the blue cheese (or stilton or whatever it is). I like most of their other burgers too (except for the kangaroo, which I thought was a bit dry). Speaking of dry, you definitely have to get the burgers at least medium-rare...I forgot to specify a couple of times and got what I assume was medium; it wasn't anywhere near as good.

Hardly. I frequent Chowhound and reviews on BP are mixed and recent reviews have not been good.
 
Haven't seen it mentioned, but i'm a big fan of Big Bite's bacon cheeseburger. The curly fries are great too... 994 Eglinton W (west of Bathurst).
