Those grade beams are very large for such a small building

That column is way high above the foundation footing and a lot of shimming and grouting to be done for it.

The crane is on a nice footing for the erection of the steel work for this build. Going to be fun putting the steel up where the crane is now.

Those crane supports were still there on Wed when I shot the site. Going to be a tight fit to get rest of the steel up for the west end, as well the precast slabs.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think they're finished going upwards. According to the render, there are two more floors.

Thats all she wrote floor wise and a waste.

There were to be 2 more floors, but guess no buyers.

There is no elevator area and only a straight stair case next to the north east wall.

The small area of steel work at the top is for the mechanical room at this point.

Yeah, 2 storey buildings are a waste of space in the city. Especially on busy main streets. Another recent-ish example would be the 4-5 year old, 2 storey restaurant building at Dundas/Edward.

But I guess even with the drastic redevelopment, living across from the CAMH cannot be an easy sell. Although, I was in the areas last week and the hipster/artist retail strip west of Trinity-Bellwoods is improving. Quite a lot of new shops/restaurants opening up recently, that I don't remember seeing before. The hipster scene is pretty consistent all the way to Roncy.

This is ridiculous. Might as well have kept the heritage building then, which would have been far more beneficial to the neighbourhood and Queen street reworked a la Drake Hotel. Now we're stuck with a bland 2 storey POS at prominent intersection that nobody will give a second glance. I knew this was a joke from the start and was vocal about it. I'd actually be thrilled to see a different developer buy this property and knock it down to start over before this is even finished. What a bloody waste.

I guess the main reason this did not sell was the fact there was no parking for the residents.

With the rest of the steel up now, just waiting the core decking.

As I was shooting the site, I wonder if they would bring the Jumper to CHAM from the mess he was causing at Queen and Roncesvalle, as I went by the area a few minutes earlier. 504 will kill for service north of Queen since the jumper was on top of the billboard.
