Making a new thread on various GO construction project and keep the other for service only.
First off, track 2 for the Georgetown line from south of Dupont to North of St Clair has been removed. Only the Diamond's remains as well crossing Old Weston Rd. A switch has been cut into track 1 north of St Clair to connect to track 2.
A new bridge for track 4 for the Georgetown line has been installed over Dupont. Provision for a new track 1 bridge is there, but not the bridge.
Track 1 for the Galt line on the curb is gone at the junction.
Have not seen any major work for the Dufferin Jog bridges at this time.
Aldershot
A Gateway stand has been added to the Aldershot station.
The Aldershot Cold Storage building is gone and not sure if this area or near the station that will become a fuel refueling area for GO as one is plan for this area.
Lakeshore E
It was nice to see the 3rd track in use for the east end on Tuesday.
Snider bridge
I can tell you 100% that the Snider bridge will support 2 tracks. From the looks of things on the day I saw it, rail was sitting there to be place on the Steeles bridge to connect to the current York station. A new switch will have to be installed to connect to the Snider line as well cut over to track 1.
Bathurst Yard
Steaks markings can be seen at the fly under at Bathurst Yard where a new retaining wall is going to be built so the 3rd track can be added. The work on the extension to Bathurst yard is taking fore every.
GO is putting up a stink about the bridge that is supposed to go over the whole corridor to connect City Place to Portland Ave to the point it's driving the price sky high as well making hard to do. It a poor design in the first place and was been pickup by City Place. With all these issues, maybe GO will have to kick in some money.
Brampton
The stairs to the new west end tunnel is in place for the south platform with work taking place on the north platform.
Caissons with anchors have been place along the north side as if they will be used for a sound barrier wall or support the new platform. Work is underway at the existing tunnel on the south side.
Clarkson
The north end of the east end tunnel is close and been rebuilt. Riders have to use the rebuilt stairs to the north platform to get to/from each side.
The new entrance to the new tunnel to the west is almost complete with work still taking place on the tunnel it self. New steel work for waiting areas have been installed for the north side.
The building of the retaining walls for the new 3rd track going east toward Clarkson Rd is a snail pace.
