Avonshire (Tridel - North York)
I know there have been past posts about this development, but I can't find the correct thread.
Tridel is planning to launch Avonshire in the next couple of months.
From the Tridel website : AVONSHIRE will include four condominium towers, a rental tower and approximately 100 townhomes. The streetscapes are being carefully designed to have a friendly pedestrian-oriented curb-appeal, highlighted by mature trees, pleasant community walkways, extensive landscaping and buildings that will have stunning, classically designed street-level facades. A central park with a natural, environmentally themed plan will provide beautiful open space to be enjoyed by all within the community
Green initiatives:
The planned development will continue with Tridel's "Built Green. Built For Life" green initiatives. In pursuit of L.E.E.D. (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Development) certification from the Canada Green Building Council, all suites will come with a range of environmentally preferred features and finishes including: low volatile organic compound paints and carpeting to minimize off-gassing, durable environmentally friendly plank laminate wood flooring, energy efficient windows, Energy Star appliances, water conservation methods, individually-controlled high efficiency space conditioning and high performance energy recovery ventilators.
Site plan:
Landscape architect Sibylle Von Knobloch of NAK Design Group has created a park plan with a central courtyard that will feature dry fountains that will shoot columns of water into the air in a timed procession, walking promenades and pergolas adorned with trellises, flowers and a bubbling water fountain. Pavilions will offer shady places and there will be open lawn areas. There will also be senior and junior playgrounds with a selection of playing equipment. Woven throughout the park will be trees, perennials and planter boxes overflowing with flowers, all thoughtfully planted to provide distinctive beauty and changing colours throughout the seasons.
Some quotes on the Tridel website regarding the architecture (Kirkor Architects and Planners):
Clifford Korman, Senior Partner of Kirkor Architects and Planners "At Avonshire we have a unique opportunity to create a village atmosphere of intimacy, convenience and aesthetic beauty where people connect, become neighbours and friends - a real sense of community," says Clifford. "Our vision of classic architecture and timeless design will give the integrated community a distinct warmth that feels of home."
With over a year of meticulous planning and work, this dynamic team has created a community that will make a signature statement in North York. Timeless and classic in nature, Avonshire's first phase will consist of two 21-storey condominium residences and a selection of luxurious townhomes.
