Avonshire (Yonge/401, Tridel/K&G, 14 + 21 + 3x 22s, Kirkor) COMPLETE

Since Avondale Public School construction progress is already squatting here,....

Originally $11.5milion for rebuilding 2-storey school for 553 students built with option of adding 3rd storey later, but it would have required portables on opening day! Thus mid-project, Province allowed TDSB to go ahead and add 3rd storey (875 student capacity) - last heard cost around $23million and counting! BTW, Province (former Liberal government) didn't pay a single penny! Only allowed Toronto District School Board (under spending freeze - audit) to sell assets to raise money for this school rebuild.

BTW, while construction started in 2016, previously - there was couple year delay as City stalled Building Permits (last minute detail about Non-Profit Childcare facility and Councillor fighting for bike lanes). And previous to all the approvals, there was 10 years of advocacy from local neighbourhood especially Avondale Community Condominium Association (ACCA now part of YCCA - Yonge Corridor Condominium Association) especially former Chair Dennis Rak - so it took over 15 years to get to this stage! (Advocacy for more local school capacity at Avondale Public School started soon after Avondale Community Condominiums were built in 2000)

School opening was originally supposed to be years ago!,... now pushed back to January 2019, then March 2019,...
