Check areas where the flooring meets up with the wall -- I had two floor boards (is that even what they're called???) that were cut too short leaving a gap. Turn on all the lights to make sure you can see any places where they have only done primer and no paint. Other things will probably be...
New rules for this forum...
1) take a deep breath before writing messages :) This will avoid people attacking their neighbours for thinking PDI guy is cute -- which for the record Samantha...he is...and super nice :)
On further consideration...that is the only new rule!

I got an update re: hallways.
They explained to me that they won't complete the hallways (flooring or wallpaper) until people move in. I've been told this is standard in pre-builds as they figure people may scratch the floors and bump the walls and then the work would need to be re-done.

Elevators were not working when I was there on Friday.
Also - as an update to everyone...despite my comments on Friday that it didn't seem like anyone was in a rush to meet the January 15th occupancy date, I got a call from my lawyer this morning saying that they finally heard from the builders...
Hey there - so a couple of things.
You may want to try Jenna next week -- I know she's been in the process of moving into the office on the actual site of Phase 1 so perhaps she isn't connected yet there.
Re: the flooring -- the Banff 5995 Light grey is for the tiles in the kitchen, not the...
There are big things to watch for, which will probably jump out at you. Two pieces of flooring had big chips out of them. One thing to watch for is where your flooring meets the wall or cupboards -- there was a piece of flooring that was clearly cut too short so there was a big gap (maybe...
Hey everyone - just did my PDI this morning. Having never done anything like this before, I wasn't sure what to expect...overall though, it was a rather painless experience. Went to the unit, checked out the finishes -- made sure nothing was broken (there will be things that need to get...
My PDI is scheduled for the 11th (next Friday) and I'm on the 2nd floor. From what they told me they were scheduling below ground, 1st floor and 2nd floor PDI's for Jan 9-11 and trying to move those folks in on or around the 15th. We'll see what pans out next week. I'm happy to report back...
Hi folks - I actually got an answer to my question. The date of occupancy is when you'll get your keys assuming all paperwork gets done -- could all be official by 9am, but could also be 5pm. In planning your moving you may want to think about giving yourself a buffer when planning trucks...
I was actually wondering a similar things re: occupancy. So you have a date, whether it's December 15th, January 15th etc. Generally on that day there is a bunch of work the lawyers need to do before they "release" the keys. I am wondering whether they will do any of that work before the...
