Re Bayview - I'm impressed with the faux-stone facing on the new abutments.... a little extra touch to make the old and new match.

Metrolinx is promising commuters that the new Burlington GO station will be "fully functional" this fall and all the dust settled by the end of the year when construction is expected to be complete.
The latest timeline puts the Fairview Street facility more than two years behind schedule from the original reopening set for early 2014.
Some of the work that's been finished in the last year has included the west tunnel that links to the south station, as well as new washrooms.
Metrolinx spokesperson Vanessa Barrasa said the transit service made sure the 7,300 daily customers have still been able to access the existing station and services since work began in 2012.
"The new station building under construction at Burlington GO will be fully functional this fall, with (all) construction wrapping up at the station by the end of the year," Barrasa said.
While much of the exterior of the station has looked the same for months, the bus loop on the station's south side is expected to be among the major project completions in the fall.
It will accommodate 10 of the city's buses, and another three belonging to GO Transit, while also helping to improve the overall parking lot traffic flow.
The cost of the initial contract awarded to Bonfield Construction was $13.8 million.
Metrolinx said earlier this year that several delays had increased the project budget to $20 million.
Barrasa said the project had "several unexpected delays, including the relocation of a transformer and communication systems." As well, "two harsh winters and subcontractor issues" also had a part to play, Barrasa said.
Metrolinx would still likely cover any potential additional overruns in the coming months above and beyond the current budget.

Looks like King City GO station is going to get a parking structure. I know local politicians have wanted to improve the parking situation there for a long time.

Metrolinx is accepting bids (“Requests”) for emergent survey services for the Kitchener Corridor, as more particularly described in this Request Document as required by Metrolinx.
While not complete, there is a site that lists over a hundred Metrolinx concurrently in progress, plus affiliates (TTC), in a map explorer:Looking at these pictures and the contributions from others and thinking of previous posts, I think that GO may have more than four dozen active separate construction projects including stations, track twinning, parking garages, line extensions, signalling and eliminating level crossings. If you count the pieces on LSE to Bowmanville and LSW to Niagara those alone add up to another two dozen un started.
That is one hell of a lot of project and construction management expertise required.
