Just east of Yonge Street in Midtown Toronto’s Davisville Village stands the growing 30 Merton Street, at Merton's northeast corner with Al Green Lane. The 37-storey rental tower designed by Sweeny &Co Architects for QuadReal Property Group and bcIMC, is nearing topping off, with much of clad in white panels and window wall glazing. Since UrbanToronto’s April, 2026 update, construction has advanced to the stepped-back upper levels, while enclosure has progressed across the tower.
Red construction hoist cabs climb the east elevation in July, 2026, when the tower had reached approximately the 34th floor, with projecting slab formwork beneath the crane and concrete boom pump. Cladding and glazing reached to around the 19th floor, just about where projecting balcony slabs begin.
From across Merton Street, accented buff brick-veneered pre-cast cladding frame projecting balconies, with much of the frontage awaiting glazing. At the west end, a blue articulating boom lift reaches into the taller white-framed entrance bay beside exposed weatherproofing. Insulation and fastening plates surround future ground-floor curtain wall openings, partly concealed by scaffold-supported hoarding and the covered pedestrian walkway.
A close-up looking to the south elevation shows black metal guards reflecting the sunlight on stacked projecting balconies, their slender pickets above slab-edge fascia panels. We see unpainted concrete soffits, contrasting with smooth white aluminum panel cladding around the balcony bays. Between the stacks is narrow dark-framed window wall glazing, divided by spandrel panels at each floor.
A distant view this month captures the tower’s about to be topped off on the Davisville Village skyline. Formwork surrounds the two uppermost floors, stepped back from the main massing. Cladding and glazing reach approximately the 31st floor, four levels below the step-back. Stacked south-facing balconies and a recessed window wall create an articulated facade beside the west face’s flatter white-panel-and-glazing grid.
Upon completion, 30 Merton Street will rise 125.3m and deliver 322 market-rate rental units.
