Bijou on Bloor has topped off and its crane removed since UrbanToronto’s last update in August, 2025. The 12-storey condominium in Toronto’s Bloor West Village, designed by BDP Quadrangle for Plaza, sits just west of Jane station on a sloping site fronting Bloor Street West.
Looking southwest from across Jane Street in late October, 2025, the concrete structure had reached full height, with the mechanical penthouse formed. The building’s stepped massing is visible along the north elevation to the right, with successive upper-level step-backs. A construction hoist is secured to the southeast corner., while the crane remains active above.
From across Riverview Gardens in November, 2025, reddish-brown brick cladding rises to the ninth floor across the two projecting volumes of the west elevation. Between them, a recessed section remains as bare concrete. Window wall systems with dark aluminum framing and black mullions are installed up to the fifth floor.
The crane has been dismantled by January, 2026, seen here from across Bloor Street West and South Kingsway. The south elevation shows cladding installation advancing in line with the west face. At grade, a darker grey brick base defines the retail frontage, along with curtainwall glazing. Sections of the facade remain in progress, with white tarps draped over unenclosed openings and inset balconies, while yellow weatherproofing is visible on adjacent unfinished areas. At the southwest corner, projecting balconies expose unfinished concrete soffits, while to the east, raw concrete remain exposed on the uppermost levels.
Viewed looking southeast across the adjacent Green P parking lot in February, 2026, the building’s U-shaped configuration has the east volume stepping back through multiple upper levels, while the west volume presents a more uniform massing with a single upper-level step-back. The east side features a lighter-toned window wall system, while blue weatherproofing is seen along the slab edge just below the step-backs. Projecting balcony slabs extend across both volumes, with ones on the right now fitted with glass guardrails. At the roofline, mechanical penthouse structures and screening elements are partially enclosed, with metal framing still visible on the left.
Along Bloor Street, branded hoarding continues to line the site. Vertical projecting fins clad in reddish-brown brick define the primary bays, framing recessed sections where balconies and window wall systems are installed, featuring lighter beige-toned cladding.
In a distant view from Jane Street this month, cladding and glazing progress is evident across the east and north elevations of the upper levels. On the east face, window wall systems and accompanying panel assemblies rise to roughly the ninth floor, while blue weatherproofing partially wraps the slab edge at the eighth level. At the top, the mechanical penthouse is now largely enclosed.
Bijou on Bloor stands 42.1m and will house 186 condominium units.
