As construction continues across Amexon Development Corporation’s 12-acre masterplanned community The Residences at Central Park at Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue East, the first occupancies in Phase 1 are scheduled for the end of March, 2026. Designed by Core Architects, the development is introducing five buildings ranging from 12 to 31 storeys at the eastern edge of North York’s Bayview Village area, directly beside the East Don River ravine and steps from Leslie station on Sheppard Line 4.
With the 31-storey tower now structurally complete and exterior work substantially finished, Phase 1 is preparing for resident move-ins. Looking northwest this month, the building stands fully topped off at 31 storeys, its facade largely complete with glazing and balcony assemblies in place. Slender vertical bands of precast cladding articulate the six-storey podium, while above, the willow leaf-motif glass balcony guards (referencing the nearby East Don ravine) wrap the elevations. The construction hoist remains affixed to the east elevation.
In the foreground, three cranes rise above Phase 2, where sub-grade construction continues on the shared underground garage that will link all five buildings and provide EV charging at every stall. Concrete forming and foundation work are active below grade, with staging areas and bundled materials organized between the completed tower and the emerging southern buildings.
The three-acre Central Park Common at the heart of the community is conceived as the primary open space. Framed by pedestrian promenades and a glazed canopy structure that traces the internal street network, the park features will be arranged around an expansive central lawn. Sculpted timber seating platforms, shaded café tables, and benches will be distributed throughout the green, with a curved trellis pavilion. The Common will connect directly to podium-level amenities, retail space totalling roughly 35,000 ft² across the broader development, and a new stairway descending to the East Don ravine trail.
The amenity program distributed across the podium levels will include a double-height gym with floor-to-ceiling glazing. The amenity offering also includes indoor lounges, fitness areas, and shared social spaces integrated within the podium, complemented by outdoor terraces overlooking the three-acre park.
Residents will have Leslie station on Sheppard Line 4 positioned at the edge of the community. Currently located within walking distance a couple blocks to the south, Metrolinx plans to move Oriole GO station closer to Leslie station, and therefore The Residences of Central Park, in the future. TTC bus routes along Sheppard Avenue East and Leslie Street add further accessibility, while internal pedestrian pathways coordinated under the Green Trail Road network link residents to the subway, retail frontages, and the Central Park Common.
Situated along the ravine’s edge, the community will boast a stairway descending to the trail system through the extensive parkland below. Slope stabilization and riprap reinforcement along the ravine interface have been effected, ensuring the long-term resilience of the valley edge. From upper-level terraces, residents will look out over a landscape of treed, mostly low-rise neighbourhoods nestled alongside the Don River's meanderings.
At full build-out, The Residences at Central Park will comprise five buildings rising from 46.5m to 105.9m in height, delivering a total of 1,478 residential suites across the 12-acre masterplanned site.
