Spanning 12 acres near Leslie Street and Sheppard Avenue East in North York, The Residences at Central Park by Amexon Development Corporation is reshaping the east end of the Bayview Village neighbourhood with a masterplanned vision of five towers ranging 12 to 31 storeys, designed by Core Architects. As summer unfolds, Central Park’s extensive outdoor amenities are taking shape to support an active, community-oriented lifestyle connected to nature.

Anchoring the community is Central Park Common, a three-acre landscaped heart designed as both a retreat and a gathering place. Framed by the towers and lined with cafés and retail, this expansive green space features open lawns, shaded seating areas, and walking paths that connect to every corner of the site. Inspired by the nearby ravine, the Common will host seasonal activities and community events.

The extensive network of pedestrian pathways that threads through Central Park will weave together buildings, outdoor amenity spaces, and landscaped courtyards. Paved with coordinated surfaces, the walkways create an intuitive circulation system that encourages strolling and cycling. The east court will feature a community garden and canopies for shade, while other pockets of the site include open patios with seating arranged for informal gatherings. These shared spaces are designed with accessible layouts and lush plantings.

Lining the edges of Central Park Common, more than 1,100m² of retail and dining spaces will activate the ground plane with patios and terraces that spill into the public realm. High-end grocers, cafés, and restaurants are planned to create lively outdoor experiences, inviting residents and visitors to gather over coffee or meals in the open air. Seasonal pop-ups and flexible seating areas will further add to the vibrancy of these spaces.

Positioned along the edge of the East Don River ravine, Central Park is designed to strengthen its connection to the surrounding natural landscape. Plans include slope stabilization, riprap reinforcement, and new trail linkages that will integrate the community into the broader park system. Residents will be able to step directly onto pathways leading through mature trees and along the river’s edge.

High above all of Central Park's public amenities, spacious six-foot-deep balconies extend private living areas into the open air. Framed by distinctive leaf-patterned guards, they will offer floor-to-ceiling glazing for uninterrupted views across the parkland, while weatherproof outlets make it easy to set up outdoor dining or lounge spaces.

For anytime you need to leave Central Park, transit connections will be steps away, making it easy to leave the car behind and explore the city by subway or GO train. Just a short walk from Leslie station on Sheppard Line 4 and the soon-to-be relocated Oriole GO station, residents will be able to combine active outdoor routines with commutes across Toronto.
