While Toronto has its share of ravines and hills, you never really get the sense from ground level that we sit in a basin. Go high enough in a building, or go airborne however, and the views from up there are a reminder that we are surrounded by ridges, like the Niagara Escarpment in yesterday's photo, and the Oak Ridges Moraine in today's. In this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor steveve, the towers of Vaughan — Festival to the left, Transit City at centre, and Expo City to the right — stand out against the distant ridge that in this area forms the headwaters of the Humber and Don rivers. In front of all that, the towers along Allen Road and along Dufferin Street pop up amidst Toronto's trees.
