To the north of the City of Toronto, another city centre is being will into existence around Vaughan Metropolitan Centre subway station, an eyelid-shaped entrance for which rests amidst parking lots in the middle of this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor HammerTime. The area, which was simply an industrial, warehousing, and commercial landscape prior to the arrival of the subway, is now being transformed into a mixed-use centre marked by towering condos and ground-hugging parks. Bit by bit the surface parking lots will disappear into the base of more and more new buildings, and this view of the sunset probably won't be possible beyond a half dozen more years, but a photo taken here in so many years time will likely feature as many cranes, but on new buildings, and just as many cars on the road.
