Since the 1970s it's been casually tossed around that you can look up from nearly anywhere in Toronto and see the CN Tower on the skyline, to know where Downtown is in relation to you. While that's never been universally true, and one might have had to move around to find the tower on the skyline, it has ever-less true over the last decade or so as more and more buildings become screens behind which the CN Tower will be hidden from view. In this case as per this image by UrbanToronto Forum contributor mburrrrr, the CN Tower will disappear from the view of residents of buildings on The Esplanade, even from 100 metres up, as CIBC SQUARE's North Tower grows taller. Luckily for them, the two CIBC SQUARE towers with their faceted glass walls will be worthy landmarks themselves.
