Marlin Spring Developments is bringing The Dawes to the Danforth. The 24- and 38-storey condominium towers will rise from a shared podium just around the corner from Main Street subway station in Toronto's East End. Designed by IBI Group, the development will have 631 residential condo units within its two towers. In addition to offering office and retail spaces in its podium, the building will come with luxury amenities while a daycare facility will be built into a renovated 1906-built grain elevator and mill in its base.
Upon entering the building, residents will be welcomed into a U31-designed lobby which will offer 24 hour concierge service next to a mail and parcel room. The ground level will also feature a pet wash station, while just outside the main entrance there will be a grassed area that will be dedicated for residents to take their pets out for a break.
The development will house a total of over 30,000 ft² of amenities of all kinds. This will include a social lounge where residents can hang out with others and entertain, a library lounge where residents can go to enjoy some quiet time, and a co-working area and meeting room for those who need to get some work done.
There will be many options for those looking to exercise as well. The Dawes will offer a wellness centre with exercise, cardio and weight training areas, as well as a two-storey fitness studio.
The exercise areas will be well-lit with natural light coming from walls of floor to ceiling windows offering a view of the surrounding community. Residents will be able to choose from more conventional gym machines such as treadmills and ellipticals, to more premium equipment such as punching bags and battle ropes.
Other amenity areas within The Dawes will include a games room, an art studio, a dedicated kids' area, and an outdoor terrace that will feature lounge seating, barbecue stations, and dining areas.
