The Parker is being prepared to open as the newest residential rental tower in Toronto's desirable Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood. Developer Fitzrovia Real Estate intends The Parker to redefine luxury rental living in Midtown by offering amenities rarely seen in purpose-built rental or condo developments, one of the only in the new wave of rental buildings that boast amenities that are akin to a luxury hotel. A precedent-setting project, it will offer amenities from best-in-class fitness equipment and an in-house location of a Cleveland Clinic Virtual Centre, to a two-lane bowling alley and 24-hour hotel-grade concierge service. The Parker is actively in the pre-leasing stage, with its nearly 350 suites anticipated for occupancy as soon as April 1st.
Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, this 39-storey, 25,270m² building will be completed in April, 2022, and is located at the intersection of Redpath and Broadway avenues, between Yonge Street and Mount Pleasant Road. From there, it's a short walk to to both Eglinton subway station and Sherwood Park, and the soon-to-be-completed Crosstown LRT.
While there’s no denying the delightful neighbourhood amenities – specialty grocery stores, cafés, and boutiques — it’s the goodies indoors at The Parker, particularly those situated up top, that steal the show here. Crowning the tower is a two-storey penthouse offering residents indoor and outdoor amenities set against a dramatic city backdrop. Wrapped with double-height windows, this lofty space boasts a commercial-grade "Official Hammer Strength" fitness facility, and includes a separate yoga sanctuary, spin studio, as well as vending machines dispensing Greenhouse organic cold-pressed juice and kombucha. The not-so-faint of heart can step outside to a rooftop pool wrapped with a deck and cabanas.
Adjacent to the fitness centre is a striking two-storey party room with a ‘floating’ staircase, complemented with an arcade and billiards room, and two bowling lanes. There is also a children's playroom containing a custom tree playhouse.
Ryan Funt, Director of Marketing at Fitzrovia told us “We are ecstatic that The Parker is being recognized for its innovative and thoughtful design. In January, Renderbox Magazine featured The Parker’s Penthouse Entertainment Kitchen, a notable amenity that features a custom sculpture by renowned Canadian artist Cassie Suche. We are extremely appreciative of the incredibly positive response that The Parker has received from our future residents and the architectural and design community.”
The building’s refined interiors are designed by award-winning local design firm Figure3. The common areas feature custom artwork, including an original, neon art piece by Toronto artist Thrush Holmes. Integrated into the lobby lounge is a café and wine bar, serving beverages and pastries to residents at reduced rates. “The Parker is truly a stand-out community and has elevated rental living in Toronto to a new standard,” says Figure3 Principal Dominic De Freitas.
“Inspired by Nordic design, The Parker represents a design philosophy that is strongly rooted in simplicity and functionality," Bahar Joshan Poosh, Director of Interior Design at Fitzrovia told us. "We have created a sense of harmony with nature through a soft and neutral colour scheme led by blonde wood tones. Statement pendants in the Lobby Lounge and amenities provide warmth and contrast. Double height windows create an environment that is bright and inviting. It is clear, that the finest level of craftsmanship has been reached at The Parker.”
A similar level of attention to detail and quality of finishes has also been given to the residential suites. Each is kitted out with quartz countertops, wine fridges, stainless-steel KitchenAid appliances, full-size laundry machines, and solid core doors with custom hardware. With the latest in smart home technology, residents will also enjoy complimentary 1Gig internet by Rogers, NEST thermostats, and secured keyless entry.
"The Parker will offer an extraordinary level of hospitality and customer service inspired by the world's most admired hotels," says Adrian Rocca, CEO of Fitzrovia. "The Parker has confronted the status quo, offering its own dedicated 24-hour hospitality team, complimentary virtual healthcare from the Cleveland Clinic, highly curated monthly resident events, and so much more."
Other perks that The Parker will provide include a pet spa as well as a carshare program offering BMW X1 rentals to residents at attractive rates.
The Parker is set to welcome the first residents of its 349 rental apartments – ranging from studios to 3-bedroom suites – in the Spring of 2022, with first occupancy expected on April 1st. www.theparkerlife.ca
