In Toronto's borough of North York, the former Newtonbrook Plaza site on Yonge north of Finch is being replaced with a mixed-use community from Aoyuan International. Known as M2M Condos, the completed Wallman Architects-designed complex will feature a total of five buildings. The first pair of towers are now underway, while the developer recently revealed the second phase, which will be built just north of it.

At the south end of the site, the first phase is to rise to 34 and 36 storeys from a shared 6-storey podium. With forming recently completed of the podium's fifth level, the sixth is currently being worked on. When finished, the podium will contain spaces for office, retail, daycare, amenities, and residential units.

Looking a little closer, we can see that interior walls and columns have been put in place. On the south-facing end of the site, the podium is beginning to show some of its character with the top level of four-level concrete formed cube-like frames now being formed. These will jut out from the building's facade, providing articulation to the exterior, and be home to the balconies of four-level sections of units.

Upon completion, the first pair of towers will be home to 810 condominium units, anchored to the Yonge Street sidewalk via retail and other commercial tenants.

In the M2M Condos Phase Two podium, a 46,000 ft² City-run community centre—slated to open in 2026—will face east towards a new park that residents of both phases will enjoy.
