Work has commenced at 300 The East Mall where a new multi-use community called Valhalla Village will replace aging office buildings. The building site is located on the northwest corner of The East Mall and Bloor Street West in Toronto's borough of Etobicoke, in the Eatonville-Bloorlea neighbourhood.

Crews have begun demolition of the existing buildings–formerly known as the Valhalla Executive Centre–starting with gutting of the interiors, removing internal walls, fixtures and other finishes. They will next proceed to sort the debris.

Many of the materials that will have been ripped out of the building will be sent out for recycling; metal and drywall specifically can both be salvaged and repurposed as new building materials for future projects.

Designed by BDP Quadrangle for KingSett Capital, the new Valhalla Village community will comprise four towers ranging from 10 storeys to 37, the shorter ones closer to The East Mall so as to minimize shadowing of the grounds of Bloorlea Middle School across the street. In the first phase, the 10-storey multi-use building facing The East Mall will be built along with a 29-storey rental tower to its west. Between them, Buildings 1 and 2 will add 390 new residential rental units to the site, half of them affordable, and 30 of them assisted living units. The 10-storey Building 2 will also feature community agency space (465m²) and retail (1,170m²) at ground level, and office space (2,495m²) on the second floor.

Both buildings will be accessed via a new north-south road running from Bloor Street to Gibbs Road, while sharing a two-level parking garage below with space for 385 vehicles and 306 bicycles.

As part of the redevelopment there will also be a new 2,040m² municipal park nearest to the northwest corner of Bloor and The East Mall. KingSett Capital will be leading the construction for the new park and are preparing concept design options for community feedback.
