Toronto's Corktown neighbourhood has seen a surge of densification over the past few years, and another high-rise addition is now contributing to the area's growing skyline. Great Gulf and Hullmark's 'home: Power and Adelaide' has been under construction since July, 2018, and we've been keeping a close eye on the 22-storey Core Architects-designed condominium and retail building as work progresses. Roughly two and a half years into construction, the pair of conjoined towers are growing increasingly prominent in stature.

We last checked in on the project at the end of September, 2020, when the complex had risen to a height of 11 storeys, and the first exterior finishes had begun to appear. A few months later, forming has progressed to the 18th floor, moving past the extent of their conjoined section at level 16, and now broken off into their individual volumes, heading for 19 and 22 storeys. With just a few residential levels and a mechanical penthouse left to form, the building is expected to reach its final 78.33-metre height in the coming months.

Also of significance at the time of our late September update was the start of installation of the building's cladding materials. The first spotted included charcoal-toned brick and white precast panels, along with fritted glass balcony railings. Installation of those has since progressed beyond the podium levels, while the primary exterior envelope of window wall cladding is now rapidly enclosing the lower tower floors.

Once complete, the development will feature 507 condominium units, anchored by a base containing approximately 60,000 ft² of retail space that will animate the pedestrian realm in this part of Corktown. Complementing the new retail, residential, and its added pedestrian traffic, the base will be further animated by a public realm with landscape design by Ferris + Associates.
