This week, we're turning the clocks back just over two years, comparing now and then views of a new affordable rental housing development on Madison Avenue in Toronto's South Hill neighbourhood. Among the first wave of sites supported by the City's Open Door Housing Program, construction began for a four-and-six-storey, 82-unit rental building on the 200 Madison Avenue site back at the end of 2016.

Known as Madison View, the McKnight Charron Limited Architects-designed building for Madison View Homes Inc. was well under construction in the June, 2018 photo above, when the building's concrete and structural steel frame had risen four levels. The same angles, recaptured in September, 2020, show the building's two-tone aluminum panel and dark brick cladding, as well as its recently-installed landscaping.
