Our annual Growth To Watch For series is back for another year, bigger, taller, and more comprehensive than ever. The reports this year are presented by NEEZO Studios. Over the course of the year, we will bring you to every significant development happening across the 416 and beyond into the Greater Toronto Area. We're covering everything from brand new proposals, to those inching their way through the planning process, to those under construction or about to be completed.

A total of 21 reports from Toronto and additional reports from the surrounding 905 will be available to subscribers throughout the year. (Details of how to get the reports can be found at the bottom of this article.) For a taste of what's offered in the sixteenth report in our 2020 series, here's a sneak peek at some of the contents.

This instalment of our Growth to Watch For 2020 series heads to the area between Downtown and the lower Don Valley, exploring a diverse range of developments in some of the oldest districts of Toronto. There are several hotspots of development here, including the Canary District, King-Parliament, the revitalization of Regent Park, and the renewed densification of St James Town. Beginning in the Canary District and Corktown, we zigzag our way northward from the rail corridor, staying west of the Don Valley, south of Bloor Street, and east of Jarvis Street. Along the way, we provide an overview of all projects about to be completed, all buildings currently under construction, and all proposals working their way through the planning process.

Among the hotspots in the area, the large-scale revitalization of Regent Park, formerly Canada's largest social housing development, is now 15 years into its reconstruction. Phases 1 and 2 are complete, Phase 3 is well into development, and Phases 4 and 5 are undergoing a Request for Proposals process for new development partners. The ongoing third phase includes a half-dozen projects covered in this report, with condo projects from The Daniels Corporation including DuEast, Artworks Tower and Artsy Boutique Condos, EVOLV, Field House EcoUrban Towns, and the future Block 1, as well as future Toronto Community Housing projects.

Another full-neighbourhood redevelopment that is now several years in, is the Canary District in the West Don Lands, which was initially transformed from disused land into the Athletes' Village for the 2015 Pan Am Games, with residence buildings converted to condo developments after the games wrapped. New projects continue to fill in the street grid in this area, including active construction projects at Canary Commons, and upcoming projects like the Toronto Aboriginal Hub, the Cherry Place complex, the Block 8 development, and 60 Mill. Another element in the West Don Lands is the River City condominium community, where fourth and final phase Harris Square is topped out among its three avant garde siblings and is set to wrap up construction next year.
