Following a recent application seeking Site Plan Approval (SPA) from the City of Toronto, the first signs of work have been spotted at the Church and Lombard site of The Saint, a 46-storey, Wallman Architects-designed condominium tower from Minto Communities GTA. In advance of ground breaking and the arrival of shoring and excavation equipment, the first steps in the project will see the removal of a two-storey building occupying a portion of the project's footprint.

The project site was fenced off in June, and the first activity was spotted last month when demolition crews from Delsan began removal of a two-storey building at the north end of the site, adjacent to the surface parking lot that occupies the majority of the project site. Formerly housing a restaurant, the building is now surrounded in construction hoarding as workers carry out interior demolition.

Structural demolition will follow in the coming weeks, clearing the slate for the start of shoring and excavation activity.

In the meantime, sales continue for the project, with Minto having reopened their presentation centres as of last month by appointment only, and online sales continuing via the increasingly popular Blackline platform. As of the time of writing, just 21 of the 419 condominium units remain available via Blackline.
