Just south of Bloor and west of Sherbourne in Downtown Toronto, construction is gradually moving along for Gupta Group's The Rosedale on Bloor. Work on the 55-storey, IBI Group-designed condominium and hotel tower has been underway since 2017, when site clearing began. Two and a half years later, forming of the tower's underground levels is moving along, soon to surface above Sherbourne Street.

Site clearing in mid-2017 paved the way for the late 2017 start of shoring, where drilling rigs formed below-grade earth retention walls to secure the subsequent excavation. Drilling and preparatory digging continued into late 2018, creating five levels of space for the tower's foundations and garage. Excavation had bottomed out by the time 2019 rolled around, and by last March, a tower crane had been installed.

Roughly one year since forming began, the first three underground levels have been formed across the L-shaped site. The P2 level now taking shape will be followed by one more underground level before forming gets going for the tower's ground level. Once complete, the garage will house 180 parking spaces, with 88 long-term resident parking spots and 92 spots shared between residential visitors and hotel guests.

Upon completion, the project will rise 185.86 metres to the top of the mechanical penthouse level. Rosedale on Bloor will bring 508 condominium units to the meeting point between the Rosedale and St James Town neighbourhood, as well as a 188-suite Canopy by the Hilton Hotel housed in the podium levels.
