Several factors shape a prospective homeowner's decision as where to purchase. Location is often touted as the most important variable, though for buyers with accessibility limitations, simply finding a home that meets their needs can take precedence. The Daniels Corporation's Accessibility Designed Program (ADP) addresses this by including accessible units in several of their developments across the Greater Toronto Area, including a new three-tower condominium complex called The Thornhill being built in partnership with Baif Developments, coming to Bathurst Street and Beverly Glen Boulevard, just beyond Toronto's northern city limits.

The Kirkor Architects-designed complex's initial phase will be home to 313 suites, ranging in area from 460 ft² up to 1,487 ft². This includes a pair of layouts offered as part of Daniels' ADP, condo suites specifically designed for purchasers who require the use of mobility devices. Accessibility features offered in these suites include wider doorways to accommodate mobility devices, barrier-free washrooms with roll-in showers and improved turning radius, roll-out balconies with swinging doors, modified counters, and several other features. Further details of Daniels' ADP can be found in the video below, and in an earlier article where we covered the program in depth.
A one-bedroom plan called The Beverley measures in at 607 ft², available on three floors with differing balcony layouts. Balconies available in 56 ft², 121 ft², and 134 ft² combine with the indoor area for suite totals of 663 ft², 728 ft², or 741 ft². Located on floors three through six, the three suites in this plan offer east-facing exposures.

Small families requiring enhanced accessibility are also accommodated in the building, with a two-bedroom layout called The Burbank available on levels 7 through 11. This layout includes 746 ft² of indoor living space along with a 150 ft² balcony offering west-facing exposures, for a combined space of 896 ft².
