Construction is just around the corner for River & Fifth Condominiums, the first Toronto condominium development from veteran Montreal-based developer Broccolini. To celebrate both the approaching start of construction—site prep has already begun—and the start of the Chinese New Year, the project's presentation centre at 93 River Street hosted a special brokers event this past weekend, part of the final sales drive for the new condo tower at the meeting point between the Regent Park, Corktown, and Riverside communities.

Guests attending the event rang in the Year of the Rat with giveaways including purchaser promotions and gift cards to local Distillery District restaurants, as well as Chinese baked goods. Visitors also got to take in a scale model of the Graziani + Corazza Architects-designed 37-storey tower, and mockups as well as finish displays providing details about life within.

The project will bring 580 units—ranging in area from studio apartments to 1,425 ft² townhomes—to Defries Street along the edge of the Don River. Residents will have access to over 24,000 ft² of amenity spaces featuring interiors appointed by designers U31. These will include a fitness area, sports lounge, children’s playroom, personal training room, boxing gym, yoga studio, outdoor infinity pool, co-working spaces, and a hobby room.

A new park will be built as part of the project, just south of the tower. Designed by landscape architects NAK Design Strategies, the park will feature a new pedestrian connection to Bayview Avenue, as well as direct access to the Don Valley’s walking and cycling trails.

The project is slated for tentative occupancy in 2023.
