A month and a half since we last covered Menkes DevelopmentsFleur Condos, the 29-storey, architectsAlliance-designed condominium tower is making swift progress on the northeast corner of Church and Shuter streets in Downtown Toronto. Now approximately three years since shovels first went into the ground, the project is over halfway towards its final height as cladding installation encloses the lower levels.

At the time of our last update in October on the multi-angled building, forming was in progress for the tower's 12th floor. Crews are now working on the 18th and 19th levels, and the pace of forming has picked up considerable speed since finishing the much larger floor-plates of the building's podium. At roughly two-thirds of its final height, only ten residential levels remain including the integrated mechanical penthouse.

The first signs of the building's exterior cladding were spotted in October, and installation of these materials has accelerated in the weeks since. The main building envelope of glazed window wall system with dark aluminum frames and projecting fins has been installed as high as the eighth floor, providing a much clearer picture of how the building will look once work wraps up next year.

At the current rate of forming, Fleur is expected to top out a height of 85 metres in the early months of 2020. Once construction is complete, the tower will introduce 320 new condominium units, to the area anchored to the Church and Shuter intersection with 576 m² of ground-floor retail space.
