With the Labour Day long weekend in the books, another year of the Canadian National Exhibition is over. The longstanding summer tradition is the focus of this week's Throwback Thursday, looking back to compare views of the CNE Midway captured six years apart. While the midway's transient nature means that most year-to-year differences can be written off, changes to Exhibition Place's BMO Field are the real focus in this comparison. Back in 2013, the then-soccer-specific stadium was gearing up for a significant expansion.

Six years later, and a much-larger BMO Field now serves as the backdrop for west-facing views of the midway. The stadium's capacity has been greatly expanded, while new canopies allow spectators to comfortably enjoy games during inclement weather. In addition to hosting Major League Soccer's Toronto FC, the upgraded stadium is now also home to the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL.

We will return next week with another look at the changing face of Toronto.
