The site of a former Greyhound bus terminal and following that, a surface parking lot, will soon be animated with new life. At the northwest corner of Sherbourne and Front in Toronto's Old Town of York area, construction is progressing for St. Lawrence Condos. The project by Cityzen Development Group and Fernbrook Homes is introducing a pair of 26-storey, architectsAlliance-designed condominium towers to the intersection, with construction now rising a few levels above grade.

The project has been under construction since late 2017, when drilling rigs commenced work on the site's shoring system. Excavation progressed through Summer 2018, before a pair of cranes were installed and forming kicked off for the site's underground levels roughly one year ago. The most recent milestone came this summer, when crews began to form the building's ground level.

A few months later, and work has progressed up to the third floor of the complex's 13-storey podium. Work is furthest along at the west end of the site along Frederick Street, and is gradually catching up at the east end along Sherbourne Street.

The aerial view above illustrates how the podium levels will contribute a significant section of streetwall to the stretch of Front Street on its south side, rising as a single mass for another ten levels before the building breaks apart into two separate towers. An even wider aerial view, below, hints at the impact the towers will have on the local skyline—along with the Time and Space Condos development under construction at the intersection's southeast corner, where two more cranes rise.
