The ongoing build-out of Toronto's fledgling East Bayfront neighbourhood is promising to add thousands of new residents in the coming years, as a handful of projects progress in the area. The next development set to add new homes to the area are part of the Daniels Waterfront - City of the Arts community, where a pair of Giannone Petricone-designed condominium buildings known as the Lighthouse Towers are joining the complex's existing 130QQE office building to the south.

Construction of the new towers is now reaching an important milestone, in the process of topping out of the 35- and 45-storey heights above Lake Shore and Lower Jarvis. The towers have progressed a fair bit since our last update in June, when they stood at heights of 33 and 40 storeys. More recently, the shorter 35-storey component has reached its final height of 413 ft/126 m, while the final mechanical penthouse level has started to take shape for the 45-storey tower, soon to reach its 512 ft/156 m peak.

Installation of the towers' exterior finishes has been progressing since the first cladding was spotted back in October 2018. Almost one year later, the buildings' main building envelope is apparent, in the form of a window wall system with multiple shades of tan-toned spandrel panels, clear glass, and mechanical louvres. While the two buildings share a primary building envelope, differing balcony treatments are now setting the towers apart from one another.

The 45-storey tower to the west features full-length wraparound balconies, which are being finished in glass balcony guards that form a pattern of concentric circles, now becoming apparent as the tower's main exterior feature. To the east, a different balcony arrangement uses breaks in the balcony slabs to create an organic pattern along the east elevation.

Once construction wraps up next year, the towers will respectively bring 537 and 426 condominium units to the neighbourhood.
