A multi-tower project dubbed The Thornhill promises to add hundreds of new condo units to Bathurst Street in Vaughan at Beverly Glen Boulevard. The Daniels Corporation and Baif Developments filed for Site Plan Approval with Vaughan Planning in March, and a project website is now live as marketing for the Kirkor Architects-designed project begins.
The plan calls for three towers with heights of 12, 15, and 25 storeys, as well as a six-storey mid-rise building, the tallest tower measuring 81.65 metres in height. The two taller buildings place much of the site's density along the Bathurst Street frontage, while the 12 and 6-storey buildings sep down to meet the lower-density community that neighbours the site to the north and west. The buildings are arranged around a central courtyard, with landscaping by Land Art Design.
The Thornhill's official website indicates the 25-storey phase is the first planned to be constructed on the 3.5-acre site, bringing a range of unit types ranging from 1-bedroom to 3-bedroom models. A total of 763 units are proposed across the four buildings, including 113 barrier-free accessible suites.
A three-level underground garage is proposed with 933 parking spaces, planned in a mix of 801 for residents (at a rate of 1.05 spaces/unit), 114 for visitors, and 17 spaces for the complex's retail component.
