This week’s Throwback Thursday takes us to Perth Avenue in Toronto’s Junction Triangle area, where a heritage church building was recently transformed into a new condominium development. Back in October 2014, the 1913-built Perth Avenue Methodist Church had been stripped down to its exterior walls and frame to incorporate the building into a condo project from Windmill Developments Group. A section of steel frame for a new section is also visible to the left.

After running into some issues, Union Lofts as it was originally known, was put on hold before re-emerging with new branding as Arch Lofts. Just shy of 5 years since the "before" photo was captured, the now-completed Caricari Lee Architects-designed development has restored the heritage church facades while bringing new sensitively-scaled residential density to the site.
