Just south of the Avenue Road and Davenport intersection at the north edge of Toronto's Yorkville neighbourhood, work is progressing on a new mid-rise condominium from Dash Developments known as Avenue 151. Designed by Teeple Architects, with Giovanni A. Tassone Architects serving as Architect of Record, the now partially-clad project is already turning heads with eye-catching materials.

Cladding installation commenced back in April with the first sculptural precast white concrete panels. These finishes now stretch up to the roofline of the topped-out building, accentuating the curved corners of the floorplates, while adding some visual rhythm to the largely rectilinear west facade.

The precast cladding has since been joined by a window wall system with dark-tinted glazing framed by gold-hued mullions and separated by similarly gold-coloured spandrel panels. The finishes now extend up to the 7th floor in the just over one month since beginning installation.

The east side which faces into a treed neighbourhood setting is similarly clad, but boasts a more articulated face that also includes balconies.

It won't be too much longer before the completed building will bring 71 condominium units to the area. Residents of these suites will share common and amenity spaces appointed by ESQAPE Design and featuring landscaping by Strybos Barron King. The marketing rendering did not hint at the golden accents.
